DRT ACT was launched in May 2020 with 67 volunteers and now grown to 192. Since it was launched, DRT ACT volunteers have completed nine service projects. These include:

  • Sexton May 2020 – 16 volunteers deployed to undertake gardening projects for RSL Canberra
  • Fairbairn Oct 2020 – 8 volunteers provided maintenance and Chainsaw support at ACT Girl Guides Camp
  • Peel Oct/Nov 2020 – a short-term operation consisting of seven 3-day waves in Batlow post bushfires with 37 volunteers deployed over the course of the operation
  • Baker Dec 2020 – 9 volunteers deployed to undertake Damage Assessments (DAs) ahead of Operation Corkhill, which was originally planned as an ACT Service Project, however the scope changed after DAs were conducted
  • ACT Food Drop Sep/Oct 2021 – 35 volunteers deployed to deliver grocery hampers to ACT residents in home isolation with COVID on behalf of the ACT Government
  • ACT War Widows May 2022 – 16 volunteers completed various gardening projects and taskings for RSL Canberra
  • Cobargo Nov 2022 – 10 completed general maintenance taskings of the Cobargo Sports Ground ahead of Operation Salway
  • Batlow Apr 2023 – 7 volunteers helped a landowner with debris clearance after being affected by fires in preparation for building construction
  • RSL Canberra May 2023 – 22 volunteers supported gardening projects for RSL Canberra
  • Bega Valley 2023 – The DRT ACT also coordinated the delivery of a short-term Operation, Bega Valley Assist, to provide further bushfire recovery support to community members in the Cobargo and Eden locales.
